Mirra Price

After retiring from teaching high school and college English, I have been doing freelance copyediting for three years, copyediting several books, academic articles and blogs. Having been an avid reader and writer since my youth, I love working with language, which is my passion. Additionally, I find copyediting to be an opportunity to learn new things, and to enter into different realms of experience, which enriches my life.

I am originally from Indiana where I taught English in an inner-city school. Most of my teaching career was on the Navajo (Dineh) Reservation in Arizona, which helped to widen my perspective of other cultures, and how language and culture shape our world view. In 2009 after retirement, I moved to Asheville, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where I sing for Womansong chorus, write a women’s newsletter, a blog, and am working on a memoir.
